I have a masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction and am now an Interaction Designer by trade. This section shows both academic and professional usability and interface design work that I have completed. |

| General Motors Real-Time Information Management System (RIMS) |
My MHCI masters project was a collaboration between CMU and General Motors to design applications and services for automobiles of the future, with a marketing timeframe of 10-15 years. Our multi-disciplinary student team used HCI methods to brainstorm, research, and design innovative applications for future vehicles.

| puppyMedia Smart Device Design |
For my Interface and Interaction Design class, we were asked to design a smart device targeted for a user group of our choosing, to develop intial concept sketches, lead a focus group, and then redesign the concept based on focus group feedback. My design partner and I chose dog owners as our target group, and developed a series of sketches and a final design document following our focus group session. I created some of the initial concept art (handdrawn), the final concept collar art (Illustrator), and the content of the design document.

| Cruise Control Widget Redesign |
For my Interface and Interaction Design class, we were asked to redesign a widget that was difficult to use and sketch out the new concept. I redesigned the cruise control in a Toyota Camry sedan. I created the original drawing in Adobe Illustrator. |

| MP3 Player Research & Prototype Construction |
For my Interface and Interaction Design class, we were asked to design a portable (not mobile) MP3 player for the teenage boy market (ages 13-17). Working in teams of three, we conducted field research and interviewed the target market, sketched our concept in Illustrator, programmed an interactive menu display in Director, and built a physical prototype from wood, paper, foam, glass, and paint. I was primarily involved in the background research and assisted in the design, and was solely responsible for construction of the prototype.

| Heart Rate Monitor Redesign |
For my Programming Usable Interfaces class, we were asked to redesign a device and user test our redesign with multiple iterations. I redesigned a Polar Heart Rate monitor using Visual Basic. |
